SURRENDERING TO GOD'S PLAN
By Synthia Esther
You know my folly, O God; my guilt is not hidden from you (Psalm 69:5). God knows who we are in spirit and in truth. He knows our weaknesses, guilt and the shame we carry. Despite knowing the secrets we may keep, God loves His children unconditionally. Recovery from addiction begins as you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, allowing His grace, mercy and love to help you on your sacred journey home. By unleashing and releasing what you have been striving to emotionally repress, you begin to move forward allowing God's healing process to begin.
Your addiction in life is within the mind of your personal reality. To change the way your mind thinks requires a humble heart transformation surrendering to God's spiritual purpose and plan. As you exchange your mind's obsessive compulsive thought processes for the Biblical word and promises of God, you begin to experience spiritual growth and renewal. The one whom God esteems, is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at His word (Isaiah 66:2).
Romans 12:1-2, Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. (2) Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will.
In obedience to God's word He graciously bestows his favor (reference article, “Success And Approval Addiction – Am I There Yet?”). Isaiah 61: 7-9, Instead of their shame my people will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace they will inherit a double portion in their land, and everlasting joy will be theirs. (8) “For I, the Lord, love justice; I hate robbery and iniquity. In my faithfulness I will reward them and make an everlasting covenant with them. (9) Their descendants will be known among the nations and their offspring among the peoples. All who see them will acknowledge that they are a people the Lord has blessed.”
Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (6) In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 2:7-8, He holds victory in store for the upright, He is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, (8) for He guards the course of the just and protects the way of His faithful ones. You can do everything through God who gives you strength, meeting all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:13, 19).
