GOD'S FREE GIFT OF SALVATION

By Synthia Esther

God loves you with an ever lasting unconditional love and He desires to bring you restoration, favor, joy, peace and happiness. Accepting Jesus Christ as your savior and friend is the most important decision you will ever make. salvation is God's free gift to all who confess their sin's and surrender their life to Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8; Romans 6:23). Acts 4:12, "salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved". If you have had a difficult time in life know that God wants to give you a better life. Psalm 28:10, "Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me".
Perhaps you have had a life filled with abuse, addictions, problems and strife. Depression, powerlessness, hopelessness and self-loathing consume you. God's love is the light that shines in the darkness. Col. 1:13-14, "For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, (14) in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." Jesus says in John 3:7, "You must be born again." Being born again simply means to be saved.

We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). We all deserve to die and go to Hell but God has a different plan. He wants to give you a life filled with hope and a future, (Jeremiah 29:11). Be assured, no matter what you have done in the past you can be forgiven and are accepted by Jesus Christ your heavenly Father. If you feel you have gone too far into the depths of sin just remember this; God does not compare our sin with other people. In comparison to God's Holiness we "all" fall short. Listen to what the Bible says concerning humanities sin: Isaiah 64:6, "All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away."

Satan desires to sift you like wheat (Luke 22:31). He roams through the earth going back and forth in it, always seeking whom he can destroy, (Job 1:7). But the Son of God came to destroy the devil's work (1 John 3:8). You cannot earn by works or buy salvation's plan for it is a "free gift" of grace, mercy and love from our Heavenly Father (Ephesians 2:8). Not many people will give you something for free but God did! God loved us all so much He gave His only begotten son Jesus, to die on Calvary's cross to save us from our sins (John 3:16). He became our substitute by the shedding of His blood, which paid sin's price for humanities redemption. God made Him (Jesus), who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God, ( 2 Corinthians 5:21).

You may ask; Why did Jesus have to shed His blood and die for our sins to be forgiven? The Bible says in Leviticus 17:11, " For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for ones life." Hebrews 9:22, ... "without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." Christ's shed blood, death and resurrection provides us the free gift of salvation and eternal life (Romans 6:23).. We are set free by the blood of the lamb of sacrifice, Jesus Christ! You may ask;,"Why would Jesus Christ do that for me?" Because He loves you with an unconditional, everlasting love. We are His children, created by God in His image and He loves us beyond our human comprehension. Romans 5:8, "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this; while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

To receive Christ as your personal savior you simply repent of your sins (Acts 17:30), believe in His name, death, and resurrection and by faith receive Him as your Lord and Savior. Romans 10:13, for "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." John 1:12, "Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become Children of God."
In Luke 18:13 we read, But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to Heaven, but beat his breast and said, "God, have mercy on me, a sinner." This Biblical example tells us of a man who had a heart filled with humility, honesty, and sincerity. James 4:10, "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up." Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts (Hebrews 4:7). Romans 10:10, "For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." 1st John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." If you desire to give your heart to the Lord I invite you to say this simple salvation prayer and receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

A PRAYER OF SALVATION

God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus Christ, the Messiah, was my substitute when He died on the cross of Calvary. I believe His shed blood, death and resurrection were for me. I receive Him as my savior. Thank-you Father, for the forgiveness of my sins, the gift of salvation and eternal life. I surrender my heart and life to you, in Jesus name. Amen.

CONGRATULATIONS AND WELCOME!

If you have said that simple prayer of faith you are now a child of the King of kings and Lord of lords, Jesus Christ. Welcome to the body of born again believers. God and His Angels are rejoicing in Heaven because of your decision. To further your walk with Christ read His words of instruction, the Holy Bible, which is living and active (Hebrews 4: 12). You will also want to find a Bible believing local church where you can grow in faith and worship Him. Hebrews 10:24- 25, " And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the day approaching." Mathew 18:20, "For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." 1st Corinthians 2:9, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him."

SEND US YOUR PERSONAL PRAYER REQUEST

You can also send us your personal prayer request. Each request will be prayed over and by faith we believe God will deliver and sustain you. As with the death of my bother (reference story "Died on the Fourth of July"), there are somethings we will never understand until we get to Heaven. 1st Corinthians 13:12, "Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known." By faith we trust in God's providential hand of mercy, grace and love. Isaiah 55:8, "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways," declares the Lord. God has got the whole world in His hands, and in His timing we will one day understand it all. A prayer that has helped me in time of need has simply been, "Lord...my life is in your hands" - Psalm 31:14-15.

God CARES ABOUT YOUR PROBLEMS

1st Peter 5:7, "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you."

God HAS MORE PROMISES THAN WE HAVE PROBLEMS

"The most important part of our task as Christians will be to tell everyone who will listen that Jesus Christ, is the only answer to the problems that are disturbing the hearts of men and nations. We shall have the right to speak because we can tell from our experience that his light is more powerful than the deepest darkness... How wonderful that the reality of his presence is greater than the reality of the hell about us." - Betsie Ten Boom-

THE LORD IS WITH YOU ALWAYS!

Lamentations 3:22-25, " Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassion's never fail. (23) They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (24) I say to myself, "The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait on Him." (25) The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him,"

Proverbs 4:11-13, "I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. (12) When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble. (13) Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life."

Psalm 121:2, "My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of the Heaven and Earth."

Psalm 121:7-8, "The Lord will keep you from all harm - He will watch over your life; (8) the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore."

Psalm 144:2, "He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me."

Psalm 145:18, "The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth."
