LIKE A GOLD RING IN A PIGS SNOUT
By Synthia Esther
In the United States and much of the world, cultural mores have changed. A majority of Americans can turn to pornography on many popular television shows, commercials and TV movies. One such example is the television show, “The Girls Next Door,” with Hugh Hefner and his three girl friends, Holly, Bridget and Kendra. I viewed the show on a Saturday afternoon when most children are usually at home and watching. Hugh, Holly, Bridget and Kendra, as well as many others appearing on the show are indoctrinating and infiltrating thousands of adolescent and young teens (male and female alike), with a negative, destructive, promiscuous life style.
With sexual objectification as the shows theme, many young people desire to emulate them and their supposedly glamorous life. The reality in this supposed “reality show” is the false reality it creates. How a young woman could consider a life with a man old enough to be her grandfather is not very glamorous or appealing. Holly should call Hefner “Granddaddy” instead of “Puffin”.
It is obvious to me all three of these young women suffer identity issues and/or self esteem problems. Hefner and the three women do have common interests; the love of money, pride, sexual deviancy, voyeurism, exhibitionism, pornography, promiscuity, and “lack” of moral conviction, conscious and spiritual social reform. They are also irresponsible role-models portraying sexual objectification for our future generation of young girls, women and the male population who think women want it that way. The show provides abundant food for sexually addicted pigs to consume which all adds up to an increase in sexual crime (reference article, “Don't Feed The Pig - He Could End Up As Big As Hogzilla”).
The perverse themes of most hip-hop rap music is just as bad with X-Rated lyrics being the norm. Many of the world's young adult role models (i.e.- Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Nicole Richey, Paris Hilton), are proving being promiscuous is hip and popular. Emotional regulation and stability is fleeting for Britney after her no panty flashing episode, shaving her head, using an umbrella for a weapon, eating fried chicken, then wiping her greasy hands on a several thousand dollar Gucci dress she was wearing during an OK magazine photo shoot.
Other bizarre behavior during Brit's photo shoot included using a Chanel dress to clean up one of her dogs “poop” accidents. It appears a short stay in rehab didn't help Britney sort out her problems. In Sept. 2007, Britney headlined MTV's Video Music Awards, was bashed for her lack luster performance of her single “Gimme More,” and ridiculed for her out of shape body while wearing a black sequin bikini.
Paris's video on the Internet and television news has en-lighted the public concerning her sex life. Her live film and sexual encounter only seemed to up her popularity. Paris's thoughts on public school education and use of the “N” word, ignoring her probation for drinking and driving with a suspended license show the reality of her superior, superficial, self-centered, biased, attention seeking personality. Paris has gained world-wide notoriety as a partying socialite who continues to show and tell young girl wannabes “that's hot!” Whats worse is her parents seem to give their approval enabling her immaturity and dangerous behavior.
In May 2007, Paris went before the Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge, Michael T. Sauer. He sentenced Paris to 45 days in the county jail, (Century Regional Detention Facility), for driving with a suspended license. She also had a reckless driving incident. Hilton defended driving with a suspended license after having been stopped by a police officer on two separate occasions. The second landed her in Sauer's courtroom. Her response, “I have people who take care of things like that for me.” The emotional teary eyed Paris stated before Judge Sauer's sentencing, “I'm sorry, I'm sorry.”
Perhaps Paris and others who drink and drive should meet Jacqui Sanburido, who appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show “Burned Alive By A Drunk Driver”. Jacquil was unconscious for 10 months after the accident. She has endured 50 surgeries and there are many more to come. Once a beautiful young women, Jacqui's face has been grossly disfigured, her body disabled and dependent on her father, who has devoted his life to her care.
She states, “My father is the most important person in my life. If he won't be here with me, I won't be here either. He is a person that 24 hours a day gives me courage, gives me energy, helps me to continue...to not give up. He's a wonderful human being.” Jacqui, who was once a beautiful young women, is now severely disabled, marred with facial deformity. Her life speaks volumes as a voice for all those who have died at the hands of a drunken driver.
According to news reports Paris is quoted as saying, “she couldn't live with herself if she had harmed someone while driving under the influence of alcohol.” Booking number “9818783” Paris turned herself in and after serving three days in jail was released from custody on June 7, 2007 - due to unspecified health reasons (it turns out Paris is claustrophobic). News reports claim Paris refused to eat, cried herself to sleep and was having psychological problems with the possibility of suffering a nervous breakdown. She does the crime but foregos the jail time. Paris was released from jail by Sheriff Lee Baca, to serve the remaining of her time in her comfortable Hollywood Hills home on house arrest. Baca did so without Judge Michael T. Sauer's approval.
June 8, 2007, Paris Hilton was brought back into court handcuffed. She could be heard screaming and crying as she was escorted back to jail as ordered by Judge Sauer. Her reaction? Paris shouted out with tears, “It's not right!” She also called out to her “Mom” who was in the courtroom audience. Does this sound like a mature 26 year old women to you? My parents love me dearly however, if I behaved like Ms. Paris they would have agreed with the judge and had me do the time. Their reasoning? Doing the required time in jail would only make me a wiser, more responsible American citizen and a better person in the process. The Paris pouting saga continues...
June 15, 2007, according to a sheriff's official, Paris Hilton was transferred back at an all-womens jail after nearly a week in a medical ward. Meanwhile Paris remains in the news with publicity following her every move. In Hollywood they say “any publicity is good publicity.” At 26 years of age Paris Hilton should be thinking about a life career and making a positive difference in the world. Instead she now has a police record, is a “live sex now” porn star and reality show blunder of wonder. And lets not forget her superficial book of fluff and circumstance that provides additional validation of her porn and reality star image. Her book ended up on the New York best seller list.
Famous for being famous, Paris was released from jail Tuesday morning, June 26, 2007. According to Showbuzz News, Paris ended up staying in the Twin Towers jail which houses men and the county jails medical treatment center costing tax payers $1,109.78 a day, more than ten times the cost of housing inmates in the general population. After 23 days in an 8x12 jail cell 23 hours a day, Paris claims she has renewed her faith in God and desires to make a positive difference in the world. In an exclusive interview with Larry King on CNN, June 27, 2007, Larry asked her what her favorite Bible scripture was. Paris replies, “Um...hum...I don't have a favorite.” From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Like many starlets their actions speak as “loud” as their words.
According to her publicist, Slane Zelnick, after Lindsay Lohan drove her car and hopped a curb hitting a shrub on Sunset Boulevard, Lohan checked herself into an intensive medical rehabilitation facility. The incident was listed as a hit and run accident. Lohan was arrested on May 28, 2007, for drinking under the influence after partying at a well known L.A. Night club. This is the second time Lindsay has been in rehab in the last four and a half months.
Reports also contend there may have been illegal drugs found in her car. History repeats itself, July 24, 2007, Lindsay, now 21 years old, is once again arrested for drinking and driving. At the time of her arrest police found cocaine in one of Lohan's pant pockets . Lohan seems to be suffering from the generational curses passed down through her parents (reference article, “Addiction Definition And Hypotheses – Generational Curses And Blessings).
You may ask, “why would she do that?” Addicts live according to their “pet pigs” feeding schedule (reference article, “Don't Feed The Pig – He Could End Up As Big As Hogzilla”). Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more (Ephesians 4:19). While the party and reporting could go on and on, this article doesn't. The behavior of such women is summed up best in Proverbs 11:22, “Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion.”
Educational facts and statistics concerning alcohol related fatalities:
- During 2005, 16,885 people in the United States died in alcohol related motor vehicle crashes, represent 39% of all traffic related deaths (NHTSA 2006).
- According to the Department of Justice (2005) – nearly 1.4 million drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics.
- Each year, alcohol related crashes in the United States cost about 51 billion (Blincoe, et al. 2002).
- Drinking and driving has been in the forefront of public concern and legislative attention in recent years. The answer to the problem in my opinion, is two fold in nature. First, we must continue to educate the public concerning alcohol consumption limits, as well as the harm and negligence of driving impaired. Secondly, enforcing stricter government regulations and penalties regarding offenders, with repeat offenders receiving maximum sentences.
